Colorado State University Hosting Aeronautics and Aerospace Symposium

Colorado State University and the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering will host the 11th American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics Rocky Mountain Section Annual Technical Symposium, September 21-22 in the Lory Student Center.

The AIAA symposium is a place for people from every discipline and at every stage of their career to come together to network, collaborate, and inspire. This year’s theme, “Fueling Our Imaginations,” is centered around discussing exciting possibilities and technological developments in the aeronautics and aerospace industries.

The symposium features three main events, which are open to anyone with an interest in aerospace or aeronautics. To encourage student participation across the university, CSU students can attend the symposium for free with a discount code that will be shared through email communications and signage around campus closer to the event.

Meet the Employers, Thursday, September 21, 2:30 – 4:30 P.M., Lory Student Center Theatre

Students and young professionals from all disciplines are invited to connect with aeronautic and astronautic employers such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, United Launch Alliance, and others. Learn about internship opportunities, ask burning questions about industry projects, gain career insight, and more! Registration required. Poster Session, Friday, September 22, 8 A.M. – 5 P.M., Never No Summer Conference Room (Room 387, Lory Student Center)

AIAA invites principal investigators, educators, students/cadets, and professionals to submit an abstract and present a poster on topics related to those discussed at the symposium. For a full list of topics and to submit an abstract, visit the AIAA Rocky Mountain Section website.

Abstract submission closes at 5 PM MT, Friday, September 8

Annual Technical Symposium, Friday, September 22, 8 A.M. – 5 P.M., Lory Student Center Grand Ballroom

The main event will feature regional leaders, technical and industry experts, and academics including Lieutenant General John Shaw, United States Space Command Deputy Commander. The symposium will highlight the latest information on propulsion, cybersecurity, sustainability in aerospace, and more.
