In what would prove to be one of his final acts with CSU, Walter Scott, Jr. chose to expand the existing Scott Scholars Program for undergraduate engineering students, committing through his foundation an additional $11.4 million toward the program.
For many students over the years, Scott's financial support opened doors that would otherwise be closed.
As a first-generation college student, Venegas is grateful for the support of family, friends, donors and faculty, all of whom helped him adapt and excel while at CSU.
